GABIONS - SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR - HUNGARY

The authorities in Székesfehérvár (Hungary) had two main goals: first to discourage pedestrians from crossing the street away from zebras and second to provide more green areas in the city.

As a solution gabion structures were chosen. Gabion baskets made of hot-dipped galvanized meshes were filled with small stones. The inside part was completed with soil where little trees and flowers were planted. The total length of this gabion wall is 830 meters.
